About the job

As a Safety Specialist you will work together with the Railway Safety team to help optimise and coordinate railway safety activities, our procedures and promote railway safety across the organisation with special focus on L3 – The Copenhagen Lightrail. More specifically your main tasks will be to:

  • follow up on the implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System
  • plan, execute and conduct safety audits and inspections and report results to the management team of the organisation
  • prepare safety reports to public authorities and other stakeholders
  • prepare and review railway safety related documentation
  • perform risk assessment of all changes to railway safety related documentation
  • case handling of railway safety incidents 
  • provide inputs, extract and analyse data from the Metro Service internal hazard logs
  • Act as Safety Investigator when required and facilitate systematic problem solving
  • prepare and present educational and promotional material related to railway safety at all levels of the organization 
  • participate in railway safety meetings and conferences.

 

We expect that you
Have a degree in engineering or similar and can express yourself clearly in Danish and English, written and spoken. But most importantly you have:

  • knowledge of management systems and related management system standards such as ISO 9001
  • experience in project management and perhaps also risk management
  • general IT knowledge, Office 365 and Sharepoint.

 

Furthermore, you are proactive, curious, and dedicated to obtaining results and solutions and you have a desire to deliver results on an everyday basis. 

 

In addition, it will be an advantage if you:

  • have knowledge of railway safety or similar
  • are a certified Rail Safety Investigator (Undersøgelsesleder) – or willing to complete the Rail Safety Investigator education
  • have knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, including CSM-RA
  • are familiar with relevant Danish legislation for the railway business, with CENELEC Railway standards (RAMS)
  • are certified as a Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2015 – or willing to complete the Lead Auditor education
  • are a certified project manager.
