Job Areas
Operations
Employees in Operations work in rotating shifts, covering all seven days of the week, in the following roles:
Steward: As the face of the Metro, stewards assist passengers on trains and at stations, perform ticket inspections, and handle railway safety-related tasks. Training for this role is an 11-week internal program, offered with full pay.
Traffic Controller: Traffic controllers work in the control room, monitoring and managing Metro train operations. This position requires completing a 24-week internal training program with full pay.
Passenger Information Operator (PIO): Passenger information operators work in the control room, making announcements to passengers and handling inquiries. Training for this role is a six-week internal program, also with full pay.
Maintenance
Technicians at Metro Service handle the maintenance and repair of Metro vehicles and technical systems.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Metro trains
- Tracks
- Electrical and mechanical systems
- Stations and buildings
- A relevant technical qualification is required for these roles. Technicians work in two- or three-shift rotations or in dedicated day or night shifts.

Greater Copenhagen Light Rail - L3
Metro Service A/S will operate the Light Rail and is recruiting for several roles in operations and maintenance as we prepare for its opening. The Light Rail will operate year-round, requiring flexible shift work across all days of the week.
Operations Roles:
- Light Rail Operators (train drivers and ticket inspectors)
- Traffic Controllers for the control room (traffic monitoring and passenger communication)
- Front Line Supervisors
Maintenance Roles:
We are seeking technicians with varied backgrounds, such as electricians, blacksmiths, or automation technicians.
